With another appraiser’s appraisal, they stopped negotiating around $11,000. (after submitting LossValue’s Appraisal) They offered me $14,000 to pay me off. I told them no. I told them I wanted $15,500 to walk away. They came back and agreed. T. Tanner – Texas
Thank you for all of your effort with the appraisal and for the advice. They’ve settled for $13,500. I’ll be sure and recommend you to anyone who finds themselves in an accident!
Regards,
Darrell
Knowing how insurance companies work, I engaged Ken Nix of Diminished Value of Oregon, the same day as my new Subaru was rear ended.
Ken inspected my vehicle at the body shop the next day, and produced a very comprehensive 30 page appraisal report, detailing and providing
supporting documentation with photos etc, to show a Diminished value loss of towards 9k.
I had the repairs done at a shop of my choice using OEM parts.
The shop did a pretty good job, but would you pay the same for a vehicle that had been in a wreck Vs one that had not ? Of course not.
The Insurance Company under protest offered me a Diminished Value award of $2800.00 in full settlement. I refused in writing.
They then tried to stall and wait me out, so I filed in small claims court, and they settled 5 mins before going into the courtroom,
for the sum of $5500.00 plus costs.
They knew that armed with Ken’s report and paperwork, they would have no chance of convincing a judge I was not due considerably more
than their lowball offer.
Ken was in my corner all the way, he even came and gave a new Ford truck I was buying from a dealership, a FREE pre-delivery inspection !
Now that’s service.

I got the full $1200 for diminished value. Thanks again for your help! J. Cannon – California
We just settled at 4600. With no attorney and just your appraisal. Thanks so much for all your help I’ll definitely use your services in the future.

I settled for over $5,400.00. The Insurance Company’s appraisal came in with a DV of $4,000.00, but they came up to 20% of the pre-loss value. Thanks for all your help. – John | State Farm Insurance Agent – Personal Vehicle
Unfortunately we had to get a lawyer involved because the rental car agency was unwilling to settle with threat of a lawsuit. We ended up getting over $2500 for diminished value, plus over 18K for pain and suffering. We could have probably gotten more money for DV if we had held on to the Acura like you advised us to.
In the end we got more than we expected and I’m happy the ordeal has come to an end. Your report was a major factor in getting our money back.- Lionel
Many times, the appraisal can also be used to substantiate medical claims. Allowing attorney’s to show how the vehicle was damaged and how it related to an injury.
Dan – Good news! The Insurance Company agreed to settle for over $11,000 after having two other companies research the actual cash value of the car and the resale value. They contacted several Porsche dealers who advised them of DV percentages in line with your estimate. I’m sure it didn’t hurt that I was prepared to file the lawsuit as well.
This 911 had a pre-loss value of approximately $30,000 and had minor damage that occurred in a garage with repairs totaling approximately $3,500. The insurance company initially offered the client $800 for his diminished value before receiving the appraisal from LossValues.
2012 Subaru Outback – Nicholas S – “Just want to thank you for all your help. AmFam settled at $4000 which is better than $2200, and better than court litigation. If you need any type of testimonial on your website I would be happy to give one. Thanks for all your help in my appraisal”.
